Travel Information

Arriving at Kilimanjaro Airport:
We can arrange for our driver to meet you at the airport which is 45 minutes drive from the Springlands Hotel.

Arriving from Nairobi:
There are 3 flights a day from Nairobi to Kilimanjaro, 2 in the morning and 1 in the evening. Alternatively we can arrange for you to travel from any hotel in Nairobi or from Nairobi 'JKA' airport by the shuttle bus service direct to the hotel. The bus leaves Nairobi at about 8am and arrives around 3pm in Moshi. We can arrange for it to pick you up at JKA airport between 7.30am and 7.45am. A second bus leaves Nairobi at 2 pm (airport at 2.30pm). This terminates in Arusha at 6pm from where we can arrange for a taxi to take you on to Moshi. The return bus to Nairobi leaves Moshi about 11am to arrive at 6pm in Nairobi. The bus may be booked on line or through us.

We can book you into a recommended Nairobi hotel not far from the city centre, Details. If you are arriving into Nairobi Airport we can arrange a taxi to meet you and take you to the city centre or hotel.

Arriving from Mombasa:
There are several flights a week from Mombasa to Kilimanjaro, it is also possible to drive overland via Taveta. The road from Taveta to Voi is however quite rough and the journey takes about 6 hours (including about 1 hour for the border crossing).

Internal Flights:
There is an excellent network of internal flights in Tanzania, please contact us if you wish to use any internal flights.

Visas:
Generally entry visas may be obtained without any difficulty on arrival in Tanzania, either at an airport or at a land border. The fee is usd 50, however should you have some doubts about your status or about obtaining the visa you should contact a Tanzanian Consulate.

Health:
A valid yellow fever certificate is only required if coming from an area where there is risk of yellow fever. Otherwise no other health documentation is needed to enter Tanzania. Please consult your doctor regarding what medical precautions you should take prior to your journey. Care should be taken on how to deal with the possibility of catching malaria see details.

Mountaineering above 5000m requires good physical fitness and health. It is advisable to consult your doctor prior to making you booking if you have any dounts.
